NATIONAL COUNCIL FOR HOTEL MANAGEMENT & CATERING TECHNOLOGY,Pusa,New Delhi 110012 offers to the Indian Nationals admission to the Ist year of the 3-year Diploma Course at the Govt.sponsord Institutes of Hotel Management, Technology/Applied Nutrition at Ahmedabad ,Bangalore, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar Mumbai, Calcutta ,Chandigargh, Delhi, Goa, Gurudaspur, Guwahati, Gwalior, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Lucknow, Chennai Srinagar and Thiruvanathapuram.
Eligibility:
Qualifications: The candidates should have passed +2 stage examination of 10+2 system or equivalent examination in any academic or vocatonal stream with English as compulsary subject. Candidates who are appearing in the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply provisionally subject to the  condition that they should produced the proof of passing the qualifying examination latest by Ist July. The candidates selected provisionally are not allowed to join-or continue in case they fail in +2  stage examination or are placed in  compartment.
Age: not more than 22 years as on Ist July.Maximum age relaxable upto 25 years for SC/ST candidates.
Reservation: 15% seats are reserved for SC and 7.5% for ST candidates.
Mode of selection: Candidates are called for an objective type written entrance examination held in April at  the specified  centres which tests the candidate’s ability in:
(a)    Reasoning and Logical Deduction
(b)    Numerical Ability and Scientific Aptitude and
(c)    English language.
Medium for (a) and (b) is in English as well as in Hindi.
On the basis of performance in the written examination candidates are  called for interview which are held at Delhi,Mumbai, Calcutta,Chennai and Lucknow. The final selection is on the basis of overall performance in the written examintion and interview with weightage for participation in sports and successful completion of craft course(s) form any one  of the recognised catering institutes. The decision of the National Council in  this regard will be binding upon the candidates and no correspondence  is  entrained.
